CRITICAL RACE THEORY (CRT) critically examines the ways in which laws in the United States have been historically utilized to create unequal social positionality among people of various races. CRT deconstructs and moves to correct the consequences this has had on the accumulation of generational wealth, political (dis)enfranchisement, and access to opportunities in the United States. Racial Segregation in education, housing, employment, and other areas has historically been a form of government intervention on behalf of the status quo and resulted in unequal distribution of material wealth, political enfranchisement, and social/cultural opportunities.
